Awakening Through Love

Awakening Through Love

Friday Flash 55 - "The Ascetic Body"

Bending, twisting
her skin moist with sweat
muscles swelling with intensity

Perched and balanced
breathing slow and rhythmic
sometimes, fast and ragged

Solid and fierce, yet supple
Bracing through the ground, then shifting

Each position testing
She stops resisting only to submit

Focused with her power
mind and body surrender
To the peaceful place within

Go see Mr. G if you'd like to play
(he knowsitall and counts 'em all too!)

Wow... I can't stop staring at the picture. I'm with Brian; I'd definitely hurt myself trying to do that.

Nice choice!
Thanks for another Friday 55!

Brian's right... take away the picture, and you can easily imagine something different with those words. Nicely done.

Wow, your 55 words describe the strain and rewards of exercising and stretching perfectly.

And I'd be honored to pray for your son, thanks for asking.

Regards,
Peter

If only...my yoga poses don't even remotely resemble that one! Love the feeling though of the stretch...the breathing...the meditative qualities. Nice capture.

Family story -- my mother was quite capable of such contortions and when she was 8.5 months pregnant with me she put her right leg over her right shoulder and hooked it behind her head -- and almost immediately had a horrific seizure. She had to be taken to the doctor and given a relaxant to retrieve it!

I just realized that I don't know a damn thing about yoga. *scratches head*

For some reason, I feel like I should attend a class immediately.

Well done.
